Celebrating SRO Appreciation Month: Honoring Our School Deputies

Last month, we proudly celebrated SRO Appreciation Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the deputies who serve in our schools every day. These School Resource Officers (SROs) play a vital role in maintaining safe and supportive learning environments, and we wanted to show them our gratitude in a meaningful, hands-on way.
As part of the celebration, SROs were treated to a “full-service, old-fashioned” garage experience. Deputies rotated through the City garage for a quick “fill-up,” handled by a supervisor so they could remain in their vehicles and stay on schedule. From there, they moved through the wash bay for a vehicle wash before returning to their schools.
To make the day even more special, each SRO received lunch, dessert, and a drink to take with them. This small gesture was leadership’s way of saying thank you for the time, care, and commitment these deputies bring to our school communities every single day.
SRO Appreciation Month is more than just recognition—it’s a reminder that our leaders continue to think creatively about how to support and honor those who dedicate themselves to public safety in our schools.
This is truly Excellence in Service at its finest.
