We are so grateful for the amazing turnout at our recent Law and the Community session! This event provided an invaluable opportunity for students and parents to directly engage with key figures in our justice system, including a Judge, Law Enforcement, and the Commonwealth Attorney. The session included a representative from Roanoke City Public Schools as well. We would also like to extend our thanks to the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives - NOBLE for their amazing presentation that sparked conversation amongst all of us in attendance.
This session allowed the chance to ask questions, learn more about the law, and have open conversations about how the justice system impacts our community. These discussions are vital to fostering understanding, transparency, and trust between the community and those who serve and protect us.
A huge thank you to all of our panelists for their time and insight, and to everyone who joined us for this important conversation!
