TRIAD Recognition: Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office Awarded Event of the Year

In a recent news release from Attorney General Miyares' office celebrating TRIAD’s 31st Anniversary in Virginia, the Roanoke City Sheriff's Office received the TRIAD Event of the Year award for the Roanoke City TRIAD's Senior Prom.

We are honored to be awarded the TRIAD “Event of the Year” Award. This recognition reflects our continued commitment to the health, safety, and quality of life of seniors throughout our community.

Our most recent TRIAD session featured an informative and eye-opening presentation from Mr. Jeff Overbeck on Medicaid Fraud, a topic that is increasingly important for seniors and caregivers. His expertise provided attendees with valuable tools to help safeguard their personal information and protect themselves from fraudulent practices.

As we approach the end of the year, we look forward to celebrating with our senior community at our upcoming Holiday Cheer Event, where we will come together in fellowship, support, and shared joy. This gathering serves as a reminder of the strong relationships TRIAD has built and the collective work we continue to do to uplift and empower older adults.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to delivering meaningful programs, resources, and conversations that address the needs and concerns of our senior population. Whether through safety education, fraud prevention, wellness initiatives, or community engagement, we will continue working to ensure seniors feel supported, informed, and valued.

We are grateful for this recognition and look forward to expanding our TRIAD efforts in the year to come.
